The Chief Executive Officer shall serve at the pleasure of and act as the Secretary of the Wyoming Livestock Board, subject to the rules and regulations of the Board.  He may act for and perform the duties imposed by law upon the Board when the Board is not in session, but an order or regulation made by him is subject to review, modification or annulment by the Board at any subsequent meeting.

The Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) is responsible for the protection of livestock interests in the State from disease and theft. Seven members are appointed by the Governor and approved by the Senate for six year terms. No political split is indicated. The members shall serve for one six year term, and until their successors are appointed and qualified. In case of a vacancy for any reason, the governor shall appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy in accordance with W.S. 28-12-101. Each member of the Wyoming Livestock Board shall be a qualified elector of the county from which he/she is appointed and a resident of this State during his/her term of office.

The members are appointed as follows: three members must be woolgrowers, and four members must be engaged in other livestock interests.

The State is divided into "appointment districts" as set by the Legislature.  The districts are divided among the counties.  One member shall be appointed from each district and shall rotate successively among the counties within each district.
