Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Wyoming
On October 27, 2026, the Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a Park County backyard poultry flock.
Since the initial 2022 outbreak of HPAI in the US, this marks the 19th case of HPAI in poultry confirmed in Wyoming. For the past couple of years, most cases have been reported between the months of October and February.
WLSB urges poultry owners to monitor their flocks daily for increased morbidity and mortality. If sudden death of multiple birds occurs, please contact your veterinarian or the Wyoming Livestock Board (307-777-7515), immediately.
